Georgia Commission on Family Violence
The Georgia Commission on Family Violence (GCFV) provides leadership to communities, including public and private stakeholders, to help strengthen Georgia families by ending family violence. Some ways in which GCFV seeks to accomplish this objective is by:

Studying and evaluating the needs and services relating to family violence in Georgia.

Monitoring and Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of existing family violence laws.

Initiating and coordinating the development of family violence legislation.

Monitoring the implementation and enforcement of laws, regulations, and protocols concerning family violence.
The Department of Community Supervision (DCS) strongly supports the Commission’s mission to strengthen Georgia families by ending family violence. DCS believes that all Georgians deserve to be safe and protected in public places as well as private residences. As a result, the GCFV is administratively attached to the Department of Community Supervision.
