She has served in several roles to include a Probation and Parole Officer, Center Administrator of the Macon Day Reporting Center servicing supervisees with substance abuse needs, Training & Professional Development Manager, and Research & Development Manager. Maria is a Senior POST Certified Instructor, Certified Facilitator of several evidence-based programs, and is a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor II. Maria has completed the University of Georgia’s grant writing program and multiple grant management programs from Management Concepts.
In her current role, Maria manages the operations of the Research & Data Services Division charged with overseeing internal and external data requests, grant writing and monitoring, policy coordination, and internal and external research related to DCS projects.
Maria holds a Doctorate in Criminal Justice from Walden University, two Master’s degrees — one from Walden University and one from Capella University, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Mercer University.
