Shanta has served the State of Georgia since 2006, including with the Department of Community Supervision since its inception in 2015. Prior to joining DCS, she served in various capacities with the Georgia Department of Corrections. Throughout her career, Shanta has taken on key leadership roles focused on improving operations, developing employees, and strengthening community supervision and service delivery.

In addition to her role at DCS, Shanta serves as a Commission Member for the Georgia Commission for Family Violence, where she works to address family violence and support efforts that promote safety and well-being for families in Georgia.

Shanta holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Strayer University. She has completed professional development programs through the University of Georgia’s Correctional Leadership Institute and the APPA Leadership Institute. She is also a member of the American Probation and Parole Association, the Georgia Professional Association of Community Supervision, and the Georgia Council on Criminal Justice
