ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2023 DCS Awards. 

The award winners were announced during the 2023 DCS Awards Ceremony held at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) in Forsyth, Ga on Tuesday, October 17,  2023. Greg Dozier Commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia served as  the keynote speaker. 

The award recipients are as follows: 

  • 2023 DCS Employee of the Year Award (Sworn Staff) winner — Christopher Burke, Community Supervision Officer III, Mental Health Specialist, Middle Judicial Circuit
     
  • 2023 DCS Employee of the Year Award (Non-Sworn Staff) winner — Haley Lewis, Rehabilitation Counselor, Rome Judicial Circuit
     
  • 2023 DCS Leadership Award winner — Roxanne Bland, Assistant Chief Community Supervision Officer, Atlantic Judicial Circuit
     
  • 2023 DCS Stakeholder Award winner(s) —Phillip Myers, Manager, Dunkin Donuts and Chief Superior Court Judge Brenda Weaver, Appalachian Judicial Circuit
     
  • 2023 DCS Tiffany Bishop Award winner — Melinda Allbritton, Community Supervision Officer, Griffin Judicial Circuit
     
  • 2023 DCS Heroism Award winner(s) — 
    • Matthew Blay, Community Supervision Officer III, Blue Ridge Circuit,  and Corey Brittain, Public Safety Trainer 2, Enhanced Supervision Program Unit
    • Kristen Clarke, Community Supervision Officer  II, Rockdale Judicial Circuit

  • 2023 DCS Video Spotlight of the Year Award winner(s) — Derek Newham, Community Supervision Officer III, Alapaha Circuit

The DCS Awards Ceremony is held annually to recognize the talented and brave individuals who have made an immense contribution to the Department, the criminal justice system and their local community. These masterful employees exhibit qualities that advance the department and also bring a notable spotlight on public service. Each year the ceremony is held to celebrate these accomplishments and highlight award recipients who exemplify our core values.
