DCS Congratulates Eighteen Graduates for Completion of the Basic Community Supervision Training

ATLANTA -  Eighteen officers graduated from the Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT) at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.  All graduates are now certified as Community Supervision Officers by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).

Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp joins DCS to Recognize Employee Excellence

ATLANTA -  Employees of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) will be recognized during the Department’s Annual Awards Ceremony. The ceremony will be held virtually on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 10:00 am.

Ten DCS Community Supervision Officers graduate from the Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT)

ATLANTA -  Ten officers graduated from the Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT) at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.  The graduation ceremony was held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, in the auditorium. All graduates are now certified as Community Supervision Officers by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).

 

Summer Care Packages and School Supplies Donated During DCS’ statewide “Day of Service”

ATLANTA - Employees of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) provided school supplies and care packages to those in need within their local communities on Thursday, July 28, 2021, during the department’s statewide “Day of Service.” DCS employees distributed the collected school supplies and assembled care packages to multiple locations within their local communities.

ATLANTA -  Fifteen officers graduated from the Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT) at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.  The graduation ceremony was held on Thursday, July 22, 2021, in the auditorium. All graduates are now certified as Community Supervision Officers by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).

 

Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp Proclaims July 18 - 24, 2021 as Community Supervision Week 

ATLANTA - Governor Brian P. Kemp has issued a proclamation declaring July 18th through July 24th as "Community Supervision Week" in the State of Georgia. The week is set aside to honor and celebrate the important work performed by the men and women who serve and protect Georgia citizens through effective and efficient community-based offender supervision.

The proclamation reads, in part, “community corrections professionals work in partnership with community agencies and groups to promote prevention, intervention, and advocacy; and… provide necessary services, support, and protection for victims, and...;”

Steve Queen elected to serve as the new Board of Community Supervision Chair

ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) is pleased to announce Steve Queen as the new Chair of the Board of Community Supervision. Queen was recently voted into the office by his Board of Community Supervision colleagues. Queen is the fifth Chair of the Board.
