DCS Employees Demonstrate Community Engagement and Generosity through Summer Service Day

[ATLANTA, JULY 19] - Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) is proud to highlight the active participation of its employees in the annual Summer Service Day and the successful donation drive to support communities across the state.

On July 19, 2023, DCS employees will enthusiastically volunteer their time and skills during the Summer Service Day event. During the agency’s special project, employees collected school supplies including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, hand sanitizer wipes, etc., non-perishable food items, and personal hygiene products, and assembled personal care packages and meal kits for children in June.

In addition to their service efforts, DCS employees showed remarkable generosity through a donation drive aimed at supporting the homeless population. Together, they collected and contributed a wide range of essential items, including clothing, toiletries, non-perishable food, and blankets. These donations will be distributed to local shelters and organizations working tirelessly to assist individuals experiencing homelessness.

DCS is immensely proud of its employees for their active involvement and benevolence. By taking part in the Summer Service Day and the donation drive, they exemplified the spirit of community engagement and demonstrated their genuine concern for those in need.

"We believe in the power of service and giving back to the community," said Sandra Thomas, Executive Operations Director, at DCS. "Our employees have truly shown their commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. Their involvement in the Summer Service Day and the generous donations made reflect our shared values as an organization."

DCS extends its gratitude to all employees who participated in these initiatives and encourages continued engagement in community service activities throughout the year. By coming together and combining efforts, we can create a more compassionate and supportive community for everyone.
