DCS Congratulates the Largest Graduating Class of Community Supervision Officers Since the Beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic

ATLANTA May 12, 2022 -  DCS congratulates the largest class of Community Supervision Officers to complete the Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT) since the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020. Nineteen officers graduated from the BCSOT at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.

DCS Awarded Corrections Information Technology Recognition Award by the Integrated Justice Information Systems Institute

ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) has been awarded the 2022 Corrections Information Technology Recognition Award by the Integrated Justice Information Systems Institute. This award honors a team achievement for technical innovation between industry partner(s) and one or more practitioner agency(ies) that significantly contributed to the advancement of corrections information technology in the public sector.

ATLANTA - Governor Brian P. Kemp has issued a proclamation declaring April 26th through April 30th as "Reentry Week" in the State of Georgia. ATLANTA -  On December 9, 2021, during the Special Olympics of Georgia (SOGA) Kickoff Meeting for Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), the Georgia Department of Community Supervision was named as the 2021 Department of the Year.

DCS Employees Provide Holiday Happiness for Georgia’s Foster Children

ATLANTA -  The Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) is making this holiday season more enjoyable for children in need. Over the past few weeks, DCS employees have donated hundreds of toys to support the partnership with the Georgia Division of Family and Children's Services' (DFCS) Secret Santa Program. The toys collected will be provided to 25 children across the state. Even greater, DCS employees made financial donations that will support an additional eight foster children for a total contribution of 31 deserving children and over $5,300 raised.

All graduates are now certified as Community Supervision Officers by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).
