ATLANTA -  Employees of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) will be recognized during the Department’s Annual Awards Ceremony. The ceremony will be held virtually on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 10:00 am.

ATLANTA -  Ten officers graduated from the Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT) at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.  The graduation ceremony was held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, in the auditorium. All graduates are now certified as Community Supervision Officers by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).

ATLANTA - Employees of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) provided school supplies and care packages to those in need within their local communities on Thursday, July 28, 2021, during the department’s statewide “Day of Service.” DCS employees distributed the collected school supplies and assembled care packages to multiple locations within their local communities.  

ATLANTA -  Fifteen officers graduated from the Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT) at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.  The graduation ceremony was held on Thursday, July 22, 2021, in the auditorium. All graduates are now certified as Community Supervision Officers by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).

ATLANTA - Governor Brian P. Kemp has issued a proclamation declaring July 18th through July 24th as "Community Supervision Week" in the State of Georgia. The week is set aside to honor and celebrate the important work performed by the men and women who serve and protect Georgia citizens through effective and efficient community-based offender supervision.

The proclamation reads, in part, “community corrections professionals work in partnership with community agencies and groups to promote prevention, intervention, and advocacy; and… provide necessary services, support, and protection for victims, and...;”

ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) is pleased to announce Steve Queen as the new Chair of the Board of Community Supervision. Queen was recently voted into the office by his Board of Community Supervision colleagues. Queen is the fifth Chair of the Board.

ATLANTA -  Twelve officers graduated from the Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT) at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.  The graduation ceremony will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 27, 2021, in the auditorium. All graduates are now certified as Community Supervision Officers by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).

ATLANTA -  In an effort to protect the citizens of the State of Georgia and deter violence after recent upticks in criminal activity, the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS), alongside the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office, the Thomson Police Department, and the Georgia State Patrol conducted warrant service, intensive searches, and field interviews with verified gang members - primarily those associated with the known Street Gangs in the Thomson, GA area on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.

ATLANTA - Seventeen officers graduated from the Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT) at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.  The graduation ceremony took place on Thursday, March 18, 2021, and conclude the eight-week training course. All graduates are now certified as Community Supervision Officers by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.). Due to social distancing guidelines, in-person attendance at the upcoming ceremony was limited and the ceremony was recorded. Click here to view the graduation ceremony. 

ATLANTA -  February 24, 2021 - In an ongoing effort to deter criminal activity and to protect the citizens of the State of Georgia, the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS), alongside the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Lyons Police Dept, Vidalia Police Dept and the Toombs County Sheriff’s Office conducted warrant service, 4th Amendment searches, and field interviews with gang offenders, primarily those associated with the known Street Gangs in the Middle Judicial Circuit, Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
