DCS Announces 2022 Award Winners

ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2022 DCS Awards. The DCS Award Ceremony is held to recognize the talented and brave individuals who have made an immense contribution to the Department, the criminal justice system and their local community.

Jay Neal, Executive Director of the Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, joins DCS to Recognize Employee Excellence

ATLANTA -  Employees of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) will be recognized during the Department’s Annual Awards Ceremony. Jay Neal, Executive Director of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, will serve as the keynote speaker for the ceremony. “I am excited to recognize the hardworking men and women at the Georgia Department of Community Supervision, '' says Executive Director Jay Neal.

DCS celebrates the success of Day Reporting Center graduates at its upcoming October 2022 Commencement Ceremonies 

ATLANTA - The Recidivism Reduction Unit of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision has announced several Day Reporting Center (DRC) commencements across the state for interested citizens to attend and celebrate the success of those participants graduating this rigorous outpatient treatment program. 

DCS Congratulates Thirteen Graduates for Completion of the Basic Community Supervision Training

ATLANTA -  Thirteen officers graduated from the Basic Community Supervision Officer Training (BCSOT) at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.  The graduation ceremony was held on Thursday, September 20, 2022, in the auditorium. All graduates are now certified as Community Supervision Officers by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).

DCS Deploys Statewide Recruitment Team

Atlanta, Georgia — The Department of Community Supervision (DCS) is excited to announce the development of a new recruitment team. The newly established recruitment team consists of full-time recruiters that will lead in the talent acquisition function of the department. This includes but is not limited to managing end-to-end multiple recruitment processes in a timely and effective way. Additionally, will be responsible for promoting DCS’s reputation as a good place to work, laying a foundation for the work culture based on the DCS mission, vision, and values by ensuring that the best qualified, purpose-driven individuals pursue employment with DCS. 

Summer Care Packages and School Supplies Donated During DCS’ statewide “Day of Service”  

ATLANTA - Employees of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) provided school supplies and care packages to those in need within their local communities on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, during the department’s statewide “Day of Service.” DCS employees distributed the collected school supplies and assembled care packages to multiple locations within their local communities. 

Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp Proclaims July 17 - 23, 2022 as Community Supervision Week in Georgia

ATLANTA - Governor Brian P. Kemp has issued a proclamation declaring Sunday, July 17 through Saturday, July 23 as "Community Supervision Week" in the State of Georgia. The week is set aside to honor and celebrate the important work performed by the men and women who serve and protect Georgia citizens through effective and efficient community-based offender supervision.
